In the Western Pacific Region, rabies remains a pressing challenge. Countries including Lao PDR, Cambodia, Mongolia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Viet Nam, and China are working diligently to eliminate this deadly threat. Among them, the Philippines shows remarkable progress and determination in this effort.

In 2019, the Philippine archipelago recorded a rabies-related mortality rate of 0.05%. With steadfast commitment, this figure decreased to 0.04% in 2020. By the end of 2021, a further notable reduction was observed, with the mortality rate receding to 0.03%. These figures are more than statistical data; they highlight the Philippines' determined journey towards a future free from rabies.
