The WHO Western Pacific Region has made important progress in tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care over the past two decades, including improvements in diagnosis, treatment outcomes, and the scale up of TB preventive treatment. Nevertheless, TB remains a major public health concern in the Region.
According to the WHO Global Tuberculosis Report 2025, an estimated 2.9 million people developed TB in the Western Pacific Region in 2024, accounting for approximately 27% of the global TB burden. Despite declining trends in TB incidence and mortality in several countries and areas, the Region continues to face a substantial burden of disease, highlighting the need for sustained and accelerated efforts to end TB.
This dashboard aims to assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of TB programme activities for countries and areas of the Region. The Overview page of this dashboard displays key TB indicators, such as TB burden estimates, case notifications, TB-HIV indicators, treatment outcomes, and TB preventive treatment, at both regional and country levels. The Country Profile page provides more detailed country-wise data from the most recent year. Lastly, the Provisional Notification page displays the number of new TB cases notified per month or quarter since January 2020. The purpose of this page is to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on TB case detection since the beginning of the pandemic.
The dashboard will continue to be upgraded with additional data and visualization to help users to identify achievements and challenges in the regional and national TB response.
