The WHO Western Pacific Region has achieved substantial advancements in TB care and prevention, resulting in a reduction of TB deaths by 42% and incidence by 17% in 2021 compared to levels in 2000. Despite these achievements, TB remains a major public health concern in the Region. In 2021, the Region saw an estimated 1.9 million TB incident cases and 126,900 related deaths.
This dashboard aims to assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of TB programme activities for countries and areas of the Region. The Overview page of this dashboard displays key TB indicators, such as TB burden estimates, case notifications, TB-HIV indicators, treatment outcomes, and TB preventive treatment, at both regional and country levels. The Country Profile page provides more detailed country-wise data from the most recent year. Lastly, the Provisional Notification page displays the number of new TB cases notified per month or quarter since January 2020. The purpose of this page is to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on TB case detection since the beginning of the pandemic.
The dashboard will continue to be upgraded with additional data and visualization to help users to identify achievements and challenges in the regional and national TB response.
