Nursing is the largest occupational group in the health sector, accounting for approximately 59% of health professions globally.

Information collected for the State of the World's Nursing Report, 2020 has been used to create individual country profiles presenting key statistics on nursing workforce, including health but also education, gender, decent work and economic growth. An online section is also available on the NHWA online portal with these country profiles and other human resources for health information.
