In the Western Pacific Region, over 1 million hectares are being used to grow tobacco, a crop that kills more than 3 million people in the Region every year and causes enormous health, social, economic and environmental impacts. The same amount of land can be used to produce foods, such as rice, vegetables, and fruits that can feed millions of people in the Region.
